Perfection

“No one writes a perfect novel the first time out of the chute.”

~Tricia Goyer

I used to try to make everything perfect, but it never ended up like I wanted it to. I finally gave up trying to make it perfect and instead tried to make it good.

No matter how much I try, I will never be perfect. Nobody is perfect no matter how hard they try. The only person who is perfect is Jesus.

Writing, along with everything else, starts with a rough draft. After writing the rough draft, THEN comes the editing. Yes, your first draft will have mistakes, but you can always correct them ~ tweaking this, changing that.

So it is with life ~ you can’t be afraid to live your life because of a mistake you might make. Just like in writing you have to get the words down on paper before you ever start editing so in life we have to put ourselves out there and take a chance. We have to be willing to make mistakes and learn from our mistakes.

If I hadn’t invested the time and been okay with failing, if I had waited for perfection, I would never have learned to play an instrument. Instruments take time and patience.

So I encourage you to live life, to make mistakes, to learn, and to grow. Enjoy the process and don’t worry about being perfect.

    This is my present resolve.

BTW, I love the way your blog looks! So much effort put into the pictures. I really appreciate this. So, permit me to say in Yoruba, “Ekuuse”
