Trust

So, my sisters and I were taking pictures for this blog. I’m just going to explain what`s going on in the picture above.

My sisters wanted a picture of me “hanging” off the side of a cliff, or a rock in this case, with them all holding onto me. Well, it was high tide and the water came right up to the rock, so they thought it would be a “Cool picture.”

All of a sudden this big wave crashes against the rock and in the process of running away they almost drop me into the water. They didn’t drop me, but it really didn’t matter because I still got soaking wet.

It did turn out to be a very “Cool picture” (at least for some of us), but this also shows that we can’t put our trust in worldly things, but must instead put our trust in a higher power, God.

Because even if we are hanging off the side of a 100 foot cliff, or in this case a 5 foot rock at the beach, God will never let us go. When a big wave comes crashing in, God will always be there holding on to us, unlike my sisters 🙂 !

Even though this is a funny story it brings up a MUCH bigger point, a sad point actually, but an important point. Sometimes we put our trust in things that we shouldn’t.  Many, MANY people put their trust in things like money, cars, careers, their spouse, other gods, etc. But we all should put our trust in God and God alone.Where’s your faith? In worldly things or in God?????

So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6

Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock. – Isaiah 26:4
